Hello,

I have been bringing my VS Commodore TDM392 to you for service for a few years and you have always treated me well. However I'd like to mention one continuing problem. I brought the vehicle in several times over the years and mentioned the problem with the air conditioner; you worked on it probably three of those times. My complaint was that when the car was at running temperature, the air conditioner did not cool well. I complained that with the temperature knob turned all the way to cool
1. fresh air coming out of the vent was 4 degrees hotter than the ambient air;
2. the A/C worked perfect until the car reached running temperature when it became inadequate,
3. that my left foot would get burned when it touched the plumbing behind the heater unit.

Each time you looked at it there was no significant change to the situation. You even replaced, I believe, the valve controlling the water flow to the heater.

Last week I dreaded the thought of making a long trip in the afternoon in the summer decided to try to fix it myself. I blocked the water pipes running into the firewall. That completely fixed the problem! The AC worked like a dream as it did when it was new. Now I understand that this is not a permanent fix because at some point I'll have to hook up the pipes to get the heater working and my analysis may not be scientific but it sure seems to indicate that all along there was a flow of hot water into the AC air delivery system causing the problem. Add up the charges for your work on the system and the extra fuel caused by a constantly running AC unit cooling hot air and the cost to me has probably been several hundred dollars. Worse was the situation of never having adequate AC on hot days for years.
